配电（power distribution）是在电力系统中直接与用户相连并向用户分配电能的环节。配电系统由配电变电所、高压配电线路、配电变压器、低压配电线路以及相应的控制保护设备组成。

配电系统由配电变电所（通常是将电网的输电电压降为配电电压）、高压配电线路（即1千伏以上电压）、配电变压器、低压配电线路（1千伏以下电压）以及相应的控制保护设备组成。配电电压通常有35～60千伏和3～10千伏等。
配电线路按结构有架空线路和地下电缆。农村和中小城市可用架空线路，大城市（特别是市中心区）、旅游区、居民小区等应采用地下电缆。
直流供电方式
配电系统常用的直流供电方式有：
①二线制。用于城市无轨电车、地铁机车、矿山牵引机车等的供电。
②三线制。供应发电厂、变电所、配电所自用电和二次设备用电，电解和电镀用电。
电力系统各种电压等级均通过电力变压器来转换，电压升高为升压变压器（变电站为升压站），电压降低为降压变压器（变电站为降压站）。一种电压变为另一种电压的选用两个线圈（绕组）的双圈变压器，一种电压变为两种电压的选用三个线圈（绕组）的三圈变压器。
